I’ve lived in Union County, NJ most of my life, growing up in Plainfield. Moving to Westfield to start a family. Helping my parents relocate to a 55+ community in Garwood when they were ready to retire and my brother & sister-in law move from Plainfield to Summit. With my assistance my sister purchased & sold a vacation property in a lake community in upstate NY.
The education here is excellent! Having served as PTSO President at Edison Intermediate School and on committees throughout town over the years, I have first hand knowledge. My daughters had fields to play in, rode their bikes to elementary school and participated in softball, soccer, marching band, horse shows, French and German clubs, among others. All three graduated at the top of their classes from Westfield High School and went on to Emory, Franklin & Marshall and Penn State.
The commute to New York is easy! Before my daughters were born, I worked as a commodities trader and commuted along with dozens and dozens of others every morning. The train ride was easy, but when I learned I was going to have twins I decided to try to find a way to work closer to home with more flexible hours; now I work 24/7 always having a mobile phone nearby.
My husband, Murray, has operated the news stand at the Westfield train station for almost 30 years. If you’ve taken the train into New York, odds are you’ve met! Some say he knows more people than the Mayor…I don’t know about that. But I do know that he and the Mayor are on a first name basis.
Murray and I think real estate is a fabulous investment. Besides our own home, we own two investment properties in Westfield and a third in Atlanta, where my daughter attends medical school. I’ve seen the prices in this area go up and down and I know a good deal when I see one!
As you can tell from the posts in this blog, I love gardening and have planted flowers and vegetables just about every place they’ll let me; Ashbrook Golf course & the Westfield Train Station to name just two.
